I currently teach ninth grade AP Human Geography, and the Speech & Debate elective to all grades. I have previously taught tenth grade AP World History, and AP European History to sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

I also coach the Northwest Mock Trial, UIL Forensic Speech & Debate, and Moot Court teams. All of these teams have been very
successful. The Mock Trial team has twice advanced to the regional semi-finals and been recognized as one of the top four teams in the region. On several occasions, students from Northwest have finished second in the UTEP Moot Court competition. Northwest debaters have also advanced to regional competition in the annual Texas UIL meet.

I earned my B.A., cum laude, in Anthropology (History minor) at the University of Texas-El Paso, and my Juris Doctorate, cum laude, at the Creighton School of Law, in Omaha, Nebraska. I practiced law here in El Paso, Texas, for approximately 7 years, and taught part-time at UTEP and EPCC prior to embarking on a full-time teaching career in 2007. I taught Introduction to Sociology at EPCC and UTEP, and Law & Society, an advanced elective, at UTEP. I was named one of the Top Ten Teachers in the Ysleta School District my first year teaching (2007-8).

I am available for tutoring Monday and Wednesday from 7:45 to 8:55, and other times by appointment. My conference period is Monday and Wednesday from 10:30 to 12:00, and Friday 9:45 to 10:30.
